We warmly welcome all visitors to the Paul Mellon Centre.
We are mindful of the fact that the Paul Mellon Centre is situated within a Grade-I listed historic building, which is subject to strict planning regulations. We try to strike an appropriate balance between safeguarding the integrity of our architectural heritage, and delivering an accessible and safe environment in which to work and receive visitors.
The Paul Mellon Centre has a total of four steps in front of the main entrance of No. 16. A portable ramp can be deployed to enable wheelchair access through the front entrance to No. 15, where there are a total of five steps.
There is no lift in order to access the floors above ground level or the Public Study Room, which is situated in the basement.
A wheelchair accessible toilet is located on the ground floor.
Assistance dogs are welcomed.
Diagrams showing public areas of the building are available to download below.
A risk assessment is held in reception and visitors with a disability are encouraged to make themselves known to reception on arrival. We can then discuss how we may assist you with access and provide you with a standard Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) in the event of a fire alarm, or other evacuation emergency.
We are happy to offer assistance to visitors wherever possible and if you have any further queries please contact us.
