Karen Pilz

As Receptionist, Karen acts as first point of contact to the Centre. She supports and works closely with the Operations and Events Team to ensure the Centre is kept presentable welcoming and safe for staff and visitors.

She has previously worked as a bilingual Receptionist in Germany for the State Office for Trades and Industries (Haus der Wirtschaft) Stuttgart that also housed the Design Centre for Baden Württemberg as well as the Holtzbrinck International Publishing Stuttgart that took over Macmillan.

During this time she opened a small private school for English as a foreign language. On returning to the UK she worked in the Chapter Office of Westminster Abbey as Head Receptionist.

She has a German Institute for Foreign Affairs Advanced State Council Qualification in written and oral German as well as a CELTA Cambridge Certificate for Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
