A Biographical Dictionary of English Architecture Shortlisted for Apollo's Book of the Year

Mark Girouard's new book, A Biographical Dictionary of English Architecture 1540–1640, has been shortlisted for Apollo's Book of the Year prize.

Decribed by Apollo as 'the first of its kind', the dictionary is a compendium of English architecture between 1540 and 1640 and includes entries about master craftsmen, designers, surveyors and patrons. It was published by the Paul Mellon Centre in October 2021.
