Autumn 2024 Funding Round Open for Applications

Our autumn 2024 round of funding opportunities is now open for applications. This round is primarily designed to support organisations undertaking research, projects and activities concerned with British art or architectural history but there are opportunities on offer for individuals as well, including our Research Support Grants and our Andrew Wyld Research Support Grants, the latter specifically supports individuals who wish to travel to see works on paper and in person, and is funded by the Andrew Wyld Fund.

This year we have restructured how we award funding to support publication projects. We now offer three awards, two specifically for authors (Large and Small) and one for organisations (Exhibitions Publication) undertaking a publication intended for or after an exhibition. You can read more about these changes in our recent news item.

The opportunities on offer again for organisations this year are as follows:

• our Curatorial Research Grants, which are designed to support large-scale research projects which often result in an exhibition
• our Collaborative Project Grants which support the early days of a research project between two or more organisations, providing funding to facilitate meetings, research trips and workshops for participants
• our Conservation Research Project Grant which helps support an organisation when undertaking a project concerning conservation research and technical analysis

We have also expanded our support opportunities for digital projects. Alongside our Digital Project Grants, designed for innovative and large-scale projects, we now also offer our smaller Digitisation Grants. These are designed to support organisations wishing to digitise materials and assets from their own collections, and make them available to a wide online audience.
