We are excited to announce the successful applicants for British Art in Motion 2024.
A competition designed for undergraduate students to experiment with the possibilities of filmmaking, British Art in Motion allows successful applicants to experiment with how film can be used to offer new, engaging, creative and thought-provoking ways of interpreting works of British art and architecture from all periods.
The shortlisted applicants and their proposed film titles are:
- Rosy Akalawu-Ellman, Spiralling
- Roisin Billeter, XYZ
- Lara Chapman, Power and Representation in the Palace of Westminster
- Emma Corrigan, One Thread at a Time
- Misty Eastwood, Wo ist Heim?
- Faith Martin Abongo, Architecture, Innovation and Revolution
- Amara Mountford, The Virgin King
- Rosa Rothwell, The Painting of Balfrom Tower
The participants will soon embark on a week-long specialist programme designed to equip them with the technical and research skills needed to make their film over the summer months. In the autumn, they will see their films screened at our annual British Art in Motion film festival at a central London cinema, where the judges will announce the results of the competition.
