Winner of The Conversation Piece competition

The winner of the competition to win a copy of Kate Retford's new publication The Conversation Piece is Rachael Collins, who entered on our Facebook page.

The answer to the question, which asked which artist painted the above famous example of a Conversation Piece painting, was Johan Zoffany who completed the The Drummond Family in 1769. You can find out more about the painting (which is part of the Paul Mellon art collection held at the Yale Center for British Art) here.

The Conversation Piece by Kate Retford is now out to buy from Yale University Press and Kate will be discussing this publication as part of our free Book Night event in December.
