George Shaw: A Corner of a Foreign Field announced as one of the top ten exhibitions of 2019

Book cover The exhibition George Shaw: A Corner of a Foreign Field, first shown at the Yale Center for British Art and later the Holbourne in Bath, has been named as one of the Guardian newspaper's top ten art exhibitions of 2019, stating that Shaw's 'paintings are arrestingly beautiful, perhaps because they feel so true'.

The exhibition's catalogue was written by the Centre's Director Mark Hallett and is the first book to explore the entirety of Shaw's artistic output, which spans three decades. The publication is available to purchase through Yale University Press.

The Centre also featured cultural materials from Shaw's adolescence in a display earlier this year, Secondhand Daylight: A Display by George Shaw.
