The Great Spectacle exhibition, which tells the story of the 250 years of the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy, has been officially announced in the Academy's line up of 2018 exhibitions. As featured in last Autumn's PMC Notes, the exhibition is being curated by the Paul Mellon Centre's Director Mark Hallett and Deputy Director for Research Sarah Turner.

The Great Spectacle will coincide with the Summer Exhibition of 2018 (12 June - 19 August) and 'will dramatise the excitement, variety and richness of the Summer Exhibition, offering visitors a fascinating, ever-changing journey from Joshua Reynolds to Wolfgang Tillmans'. Full details about the exhibition can be found on the Royal Academy website.

Updates about the exhibition, accompanying catalogue, online chronicle and associated events will be published on our website and social media channels in the new year.
