Introducing the Collaborative Project Grant

The Paul Mellon Centre is pleased to announce the introduction of the new Collaborative Project Grant, adding to the number of funding opportunities that will be on offer this autumn.

This new grant is designed to inspire and support innovative collaborative research projects in the field of British art and architecture, and is intended to be shared between two or more organisations. An amount of up to £40,000 will be available to support the costs of meetings, research trips, travel and accommodation on the part of the participating organisations. This activity is designed to lead to a distinctive collaborative output; examples of such outputs might include a series of conferences, or a publication, or the development and submission of a collaborative research proposal to a major funding body.

Mark Hallett, Director of Studies at the Paul Mellon Centre, notes that "we have long been known for supporting single-scholar research; as well as maintaining such support, we are also keen to encourage creative and original forms of collaborative research on the history of British art and architecture. This grant, we hope, will provide an invaluable form of funding for such endeavours."
