Announcing the New Narratives Funding Opportunities

The Paul Mellon Centre is excited to announce a brand new set of awards designed to support students and researchers from a diverse range of backgrounds.

The New Narratives initiative will develop a dynamic community of writers and thinkers with new perspectives on British art and visual culture of all periods. It aims to broaden the field of British art history and to open it up to a wider range of individuals.

As well as generous financial support, award-holders will be provided with mentorship and guidance.

The awards consist of:

MA/MPhil Studentship
An award of £32,000 designed to cover one year of university fees and living costs of an individual undertaking and completing a MA or MPhil in the area of British art history.

Doctoral Scholarship
An award of £32,000 per year for three years designed to cover the university fees and living costs of an individual undertaking and completing a PhD in the area of British art history.

Early Career Fellowship
An award of £35,000 per year for two years designed to cover the living and sustenance costs of an early career individual who is undertaking significant art-historical research in the field of British art.
