New Discoveries Film Series

  • 16 September 2021

Since 1970 the Paul Mellon Centre has funded research on British art and architecture, helping to foster new work and unearth fascinating narratives of history. Ahead of the opening of the autumn 2021 round of funding opportunities, the Centre commissioned Shelbourne Films to help showcase some recent new discoveries made possible by the funding.

The six films feature a wide range of subjects – from Grand Tour letters to the admission of women into the Royal Society of Sculptors – and have been filmed at some iconic venues, including the British Museum and the British School at Rome.

The series is now available to watch via the Paul Mellon Centre website and Youtube channel. Autumn 2021 funding opportunities are now open for applications (closing 30 September), for more information please visit here.
