Eileen Agar: Dreaming Oneself Awake

To coincide with the publication of Eileen Agar: Dreaming Oneself Awake by Michel Remy, the Redfern Gallery will show a selection of her paintings, objects and works on paper.

Basic Instincts
The Foundling Museum
29 September 2017 - 7 January 2018
Curated by Dr Jacqueline Riding, this exhibition explores Georgian attitudes to love, desire and female respectability through the radical paintings of Joseph Highmore.

No Man's Land: Women's Photography and the First World War
Impression's Gallery
7 October - 30 December 2017
No Man's Land offers rarely-seen female perspectives on the First World War, featuring images taken by women who worked as nurses, ambulance drivers, and official photographers, as well as contemporary artists directly inspired by the conflict.

Day one of this three day symposium will be open to the public and will include papers that explore the themes explored in the exhibition Art of Power: The 3rd Earl of Bute, Politics & Collecting in Enlightenment Britain.

Conference: Knowing 'as much of art as the cat': 19th century women writers on the Old Masters

This major conference examines the role of English-speaking women as disseminators of knowledge about Old Master paintings and historic painting techniques during the Victorian era.
