Senior Research Fellow Hammad Nasar Awarded MBE

Our Senior Research Fellow and co-curator of the British Art Show 9 (2021-22) Hammad Nasar has received an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the New Year Honours list.

Sarah Turner, Deputy Director says of this news: “We are incredibly proud that Hammad is part of the Centre’s community and we have benefited in a myriad of ways from his great energy, expertise and friendship. The award of an MBE is recognition of the impact of Hammad’s work with artists, museums, galleries, and partners across the United Kingdom and internationally. His leadership on our London, Asia project has brought a critical energy to our work at the Centre, especially in thinking through questions about the relationship of art to nations, regions and empires.”
