Temporary Closure of Archive Collections

Due to essential building works, the Centre’s Archive collections will not be available for consultation during the period 22 April to 24 June 2019 inclusive. It will not be possible to answer any enquiries concerning Archive material during this time.

In addition, the Public Study Room – and all Research Collections material – will be completely closed from Friday 10 May to Friday 31 May 2019 inclusive. The Public Study Room and the Library Collection will re-open to readers on Monday 3 June 2019.

This closure is to enable the installation of air conditioning units in the Archive storage areas. The work is being undertaken to ensure the stores provide the environmental conditions that best support the long-term preservation of paper-based archives. It will also enable the Centre to work towards Archive Accreditation.
