On Monday 18 March, the Paul Mellon Centre was the host venue for the final of SPoKE Competition, an art documentary competition for young people in school years 11, 12 and 13 created by founder Tom Parsons, a teacher at St Marys school in Ascot.
SPoKE, launched in 2015, requires students to make a 5-7 minute documentary on a single work of art of their choice. Entries are judged by a panel with the winning films announced at an awards ceremony. The shortlisted finalists of the 2019 competition included students who had made films on the artists Marcel DuChamp, Gillian Wearing and Paul Delvaux. All of the staff at the Paul Mellon Centre would like to congratulate all of the winners and are delighted to have hosted the ceremony.
