The Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain Recognises Two PMC Books

We are delighted to announce that the SAHGB’s prestigious Colvin Prize – awarded annually to the author of an outstanding work of reference – has been awarded to Mark Girouard’s Biographical Dictionary of English Architecture, 1540–1640. The judging panel praised the exemplary scholarship of ‘one of Britain’s best-ever architectural historians’. You can read more about Mark Girouard and his book here.

The judges also agreed unanimously to award a Commendation to Survey of London (vols 54 & 55): Whitechapel, edited by Peter Guillery, praising the Survey of London team for their ‘world-renowned scholarly output’. You can read more about these volumes here.
