Last month, I went to Singapore to visit Yale-NUS College. It’s the first liberal arts college of its kind in South East Asia and this January will be the first time Yale in London will welcome students from YNC. While in Singapore, I met with prospective students and the students who are coming to London in January. I also had the chance to attend a fascinating presentation given by three YNC students, who used a travel grant to travel from Singapore to London overland by train this past summer! It was exciting and interesting to learn about Yale-NUS College, its ethos, and its students – who are bright and enthusiastic. I also took the opportunity to explore Singapore and sample the local cuisine, including the infamous Anthony Bourdain recommended Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice stall!
