Write on Art Workshop

  • 14 February 2020

Last year, I was invited by Holly Riddle, the Learning Coordinator at Pallant House Gallery, to join her on a session based on the Write on Art prize with the sixth form students from Bishop Luffa School. During the session, the students closely examined works of art and analysed their form in order to determine their meaning and context. Holly also incorporated several activities that asked students to recreate the paintings in front of them as a form or interpretation. It was an exciting opportunity to observe students developing the skills required not only for the Art A-level, but that can also be easily transferred to Write on Art and to their careers beyond school.

Holly has written about her experiences leading the ‘Discuss and Do’ session for Art UK.

The deadline for the current cycle of Write on Art is 31 March. Find out more information about the prize on the Write on Art website.
