Country House Guides

There is comprehensive collection of 1500 country house guide books from National Trust, English Heritage and privately owned houses from throughout the British Isles.

Different editions of the guides are kept to form an overview of the presentation of such houses over time.

Guides to country house gardens are also acquired.

Books on individual houses are purchased as well as general books on the country house and their gardens, decoration and contents. The houses mentioned in the latter are individually indexed on the library catalogue.

These materials have all been catalogued on library and photographic archive catalogue.
