Collections Overview

The Centre collects archive material relating to the study of British art and architectural history. The collections contain the research papers of art historians, many of whom were pioneers in the formation of this discipline.

The archive contains research notes, drafts, images, press cuttings and correspondence for Haldin's Dictionary of Women Artists, who were born before 1850. There is also correspondence relating to her unsuccessful attempts to get the dictionary published.

Daphne Haldin (1899-1973) was an amateur art historian.
