We offer grants to support curatorial projects, events, conservation initiatives, digital, publications and collaborative research. These grants are awarded in the autumn round of funding, with the Event Support Grant also available in the spring round.
Collaborative Project Grants
Awards of up to £40,000 to support collaborative research projects between two or more organisations.
Conservation Research Project Grant
Awards of up to £25,000 to support organisations undertaking a conservation research project.
Curatorial Research Grants
Awards of up to £40,000 to support organisations undertaking a curatorial research project.

Awards of up to £3,000 to support organisations with the practical costs of hosting events. *Applications now open*
Since 2015, we have funded innovative digital projects that enhance the understanding of British art history. Our digital grants are available in the autumn funding cycle.
Digital Project Grants
Awards of up to £40,000 to support original research which utilises digital media.
Digitisation Grants
Awards of up to £5,000 to support organisations with small digitisation projects.

We support the publication of written work through three grant opportunities, one of which can be applied for by publishers, organisations and institutions.
Exhibition Publication Grant
Awards of up to £6,000 are available to assist with a publication being printed to accompany an exhibition.
Author Grant (Large)
Awards of up to £6,000 to support the author costs associated with a publication.
Author Grants (Small)
Awards of up to £1,000 to support the image costs incurred by authors for short written works, such as articles.
