Anne Fadiman
Anne Fadiman is a Professor in the Practice of Creative Writing and the Francis Writer in Residence at Yale, where she has received the Richard H Brodhead Prize for Teaching Excellence. She is the author of two books of essays, Ex Libris and At Large and At Small, as well as The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down, the account of a cross-cultural conflict between a family of Hmong refugees and their daughter’s physicians, which won a National Book Critics Circle Award, a Los Angeles Times Book Prize, and a Salon Book Award. Her most recent book, The Wine Lover’s Daughter: A Memoir, was a National Public Radio (NPR) and Library Journal Best Book of the Year. The former editor of The American Scholar and previously a member of the Harvard Board of Overseers, she is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She is currently working on her third essay collection.
