Yale in London: What we offer
Yale in London offers Yale and Yale-NUS College undergraduates an opportunity to take Yale courses at the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art in London, United Kingdom.
Classes are small and seminar-style offering students a unique opportunity to learn and discuss key course themes with their professors. Faculty consist of Yale Faculty, Research Staff at the Paul Mellon Centre, and leading Academics based in the UK.
Courses are each one Yale College credit. Therefore, you do not need to transfer credits to your transcript. For STEM students, Yale in London is a great way to earn a humanities credit while having the opportunity to study, live, and travel in a foreign country. Students who have already studied abroad and have no more transfer credits available can study abroad again in London, while taking Yale credit courses. The programme is open to all majors and accepts applications from First years and Seniors. The programme is an ideal option for students thinking about their Sophomore spring semester.
Classes are typically Monday to Thursday and frequently take place outside of the classroom, taking advantage of the programme's central location in London, with extensive field trips, visits, and exclusive tickets to popular theatrical productions in the West End. The three day weekend allows students to plan weekend trips to Europe and the rest of the United Kingdom, as well as sightseeing across London.
Although Yale in London courses are officially listed as British Studies courses, you should speak to your DUS if you are interested in cross-listing your credits. If you are unsure of how our course schedule will affect your major or your experience at Yale email yaleinlondon@yale.edu.
