Guidelines for Prospective Authors

The Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art has a long history of publishing books and catalogues on British art and architecture, in association with Yale University Press. Since 2015, the PMC has also developed open-access digital publications, including the journal British Art Studies and several online catalogues raisonnés.

Our mission is to publish research on British art and architecture, in print and digital formats, that will contribute new knowledge, original ideas and critical thinking to the field of British art studies. We want to inspire people to engage with the histories of British art, and to support communities of interest by developing resources that will be used for years to come in research, teaching and learning.
