Public Study Room

The Research Collections are accessible to readers in our Public Study Room, which is open five days a week and provides a rich resource for scholarly research. Access is free and open to anyone after registration. 

Prior to your first visit you will need to make an appointment by emailing On arrival you will be asked to complete a Reader Agreement Form, so please bring some personal identification with you (a driving licence, student card, passport, bank card are all acceptable). You will then be given a brief induction on how to search the catalogues and locate library material. It is possible to book group registrations and inductions. 

The Library collection is reference only and the majority of it is on open-access. Journals and auction catalogues are available on request.

The Archive collections and Photo Archive collections are open by appointment only.
