Join your ECRN and DRN Convenors, Cai and Ed, for an insightful session on the intricacies of copyright and image licensing in Britain.

What is copyright? What is image licensing? Who – or what institution – holds copyright? What is public access? How and when do I license images? How do I, as an early career or doctoral researcher, navigate these confusing landscapes?

If any of these questions have kept you up at night, then this session is designed for you. Join your ECRN and DRN Convenors, Cai and Ed, for an insightful session on the intricacies of copyright and image licensing in the British context. This event will cover essential topics such as understanding copyright laws, navigating image licensing agreements and best practices for using copyrighted materials in academic work.

During the first hour, gain practical knowledge from our panel of four experts: Dr Andrea Wallace, Douglas McCarthy, Dr Chen Zu, and Victoria Hooper. This will be followed by a roundtable Q&A session to help you clear any lingering confusion so you can leave with a better understanding of how to legally and ethically use images in your research. Do not miss this opportunity to enhance your academic toolkit!
