Conference

  • 28 to 29 October 2010
  • 9:30 – 7:00 pm
  • Public Study Room, Paul Mellon Centre

This study day has been jointly planned by the Paul Mellon Centre and the Department of Greek and Roman Antiquities at the British Museum. It will address the collecting of antiquities in Europe, primarily focusing on England and Italy in the eighteenth century. The event will coincide with the forthcoming publication, by Yale University Press, of Digging and Dealing in Eighteenth Century Rome, a book begun by the noted Grand Tour scholar, the late Ilaria Bignamini and completed by Clare Hornsby.
