Join Helen Ritchie (Curator, Fitzwilliam Museum, Oxford), Patricia Ferguson (Project Curator, British Museum), Catrin Jones (Chief Curator, Wedgewood Museum), Florence Tyler (Curator, V&A), Simon Olding (Director of the Crafts Study Centre, University for the Creative Arts, Farnham) and Neil Brownsword (Artist and Professor of Ceramics, Staffordshire University) who will be live on Zoom to answer your questions about their lectures and the role of ceramics in Britain today.
While the story of ceramics is a global one, Britain has played a leading role in the last three centuries, a period in which British invention has shaped developments and brought constant renewal to the industry. Ceramics in Britain, 1750 to Now, delivered by experts in the field, will explore five key influential developments in the history of British ceramics since the mid-eighteenth century, examining the multiple ways in which innovators, entrepreneurs, and artists have reinvigorated the field.

Before the webinar
- Please download Zoom software in advance.
- Please register to attend Ceramics in Britain: Live Q&A through Eventbrite.
- We will share the link and password to the Zoom webinar with you in advance by email through Eventbrite.
During the event
- There will be a brief introduction and recap of the series followed by the Q&A will last for c. 45 minutes and the chair will prompt discussion.
- We will wait for a few minutes at the start of the webinar to allow time for attendees to sign-in.
- There will be a Waiting Room feature that allows the host to control when all participants join the meeting.
- You will be automatically muted when you join the webinar and can only communicate verbally if the host unmutes you.
- How to ask questions:
- Use the Q&A box to ask/write your questions
- You can also use the virtual Raise Hand button if you have a question/comment to make by audio.
- Use Chat box to make comments
- If you are unable to see/hear something or are experiencing technical difficulties, please notify Nermin Abdulla (Learning Programme Manager) or Danielle Convey (Events Assistant) using the chat box function. Alternatively, you can email them via [email protected]
- This session will not be recorded
- Any offensive behaviour will not be tolerated and attendees can be removed from the webinar by the host.

Zoom events that are recorded will be saved to a secure location and the original recording deleted from the device used.
