black-and-white Kim Lee booklet cover. The first series of the podcast Sculpting Lives: Women & Sculpture, written and co-hosted by Jo Baring (Director of the Ingram Collection of Modern British & Contemporary Art) and Sarah Victoria Turner (Deputy Director for Research at the Paul Mellon Centre), was launched in March 2020, just as the UK went into lockdown in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

With museums, galleries and libraries closed to visitors, podcasts and other digital resources have offered new ways of accessing works of art, artists, and collections under these extraordinary circumstances. This display documents some materials from the Paul Mellon Centre’s archive and library collections that Jo and Sarah used to develop their podcast.

The display includes three special artworks – one bronze sculptor and two works on paper – kindly lent by the Ingram Collection.

The second series of Sculpting Lives will be available from autumn 2021.
