Transhistorical conversation about British art and ecology
This evening is an opportunity for emerging scholars, writers and artists interested in British art and ecology from all time periods to get together, exchange ideas and hear from a leading voice in the field of art history and ecology. Professor Andrew Patrizio (Edinburgh College of Art) will discuss his recent book The Ecological Eye: Assembling an Ecocritical Art History (Manchester University Press, 2018) with Dr Thomas Hughes (Courtauld Institute of Art). Andrew and Thomas will reflect on ecological methodologies for the study of British art, broadly defined. It will be a very informal dialogue which attendees can join, we very much hope to benefit from a wide range of ECR expertise. We warmly welcome everyone, from those researching early British art to contemporary artists. If you would like, please do bring along an image for discussion or just a second ecological opinion! Alas this will be an online event but feel free to bring along refreshments and we will recreate the informal PMC ECR atmosphere.
Do email Thomas ([email protected]) with an image (or two).
