This is an event for ECRN members only. You can find out more about the network here.
To kick off the PMC ECRN 22/23 programme of events, we are visiting Manchester to explore how contemporary art institutions are innovating and offer our members an opportunity to network. Our morning will be hosted at the Portico Library, an historic subscription library that has revitalised its image and purpose in conversation with local communities. Later, we will visit Manchester Art Gallery to engage with their diverse programme of displays, consider how galleries are responding to social concerns and discuss the role of the art historian in challenging the fixed taxonomies and disciplinary silos of nineteenth-century Britain.
We will cover the cost of your journey to Manchester for this event. We will also provide lunch and afternoon tea/coffee.
The timetable for the day is as follows. Please note that this programme may change in the event of illness or venue closure. Attendees will be notified of any updates to the programme.

12:30pm Lunch
1:30pm Manchester Art Gallery
