A walking tour by Todd Longstaffe-Gowan

This tour will focus on the development of Bedford Square – one of London’s finest c18th communal gardens, which was described in 1783, as ‘superior in everything but magnitude to any square in Europe’. He will discuss the social and building history of the garden and its precinct, and its relationship to contemporary residential developments in the metropolis.

Please meet at 16 Bedford Square, WC1B3 JA.

This event is part of Bedford Square Festival 4 July - 7 July 2018

The aim of the Bedford Square Festival was to promote the culture based around a London Square, sharing this with our neighbours in Bloomsbury and beyond. We wanted to open the doors of the grand facades of the buildings in the Square and celebrate the culture that we pride ourselves on - art, literature, architecture, history, education, and more!
