The Early Career Researchers Network is hosting a special event for members focusing on the range of research activities carried out by curators, including research on permanent collections, for public enquiries, for exhibitions, for cataloguing, for print and digital publications, and for major collaborative research projects.
Three curators who are responsible for the research, care and display of different types of art collection will discuss the varied research they carry out on a regular basis as part of their work, and also address how they continue to pursue their own personal research interests.
Speakers:
Dr Charlotte Bolland (Senior Curator, Research and 16th Century Collections, National Portrait Gallery)
Dr John Chu (Assistant Curator of Pictures and Sculpture, National Trust)
Dr James Finch (Assistant Curator, 19th Century British Art, Tate Britain)
Ada de Wit (Curator of Works of Art, Wallace Collection)
We encourage other curators to come and share their experiences and opinions on research in the curatorial sector, and equally welcome anyone who is interested in finding out more about the work of curators.
As usual, drinks and nibbles will be provided, and we would welcome you all to join us in the pub afterwards.
