R. B. Kitaj and the Revolution in History Painting

Ben Thomas is an art historian and curator, who has published widely on topics including Renaissance art, the history of collecting, nineteenth-century sculpture and contemporary art. He was co-curator of the exhibition Raphael: The Drawings at the Ashmolean Museum (winner of the Apollo Magazine exhibition of the year award, and a Global Fine Art award) and most recently curated the exhibition Drawing Together at the Courtauld Gallery. From 1996 to 1999 he was research assistant to Margaret Wind, helping her to prepare the papers of her late husband Professor Edgar Wind for deposit in the Bodleian Library. He is now writing a book entitled Edgar Wind and Modern Art: In Defence of Marginal Anarchy which will be published by Bloomsbury in 2019.
