Rowlandson and After: Rethinking Graphic Satire

A collaborative study-day organised by Royal Collection Trust and the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art.

Using Thomas Rowlandson’s work as the starting point, this Study day aims to provide a broader art-historical examination of British graphic satire between the later years of the 18th century and today. The day begins at the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art, with panel sessions on the work and legacy of Rowlandson. The discussion continues with an afternoon at The Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace, including an introduction by exhibition curator Kate Heard and a private view.
