To discuss the benefits and challenges of studying abroad and to offer students practical advice on how to apply.

Two male figures wearing blue tops galloping on horse back This session offers an overview of the different schemes providing PhD students with opportunities to conduct their research abroad, including the AHRC International Placement Scheme, Leverhulme Study Abroad Grants, Yale Centre for British Art Visiting Scholar Awards, Erasmus, Terra Travel Grants, and fellowship programmes at international museums. Each speaker will deliver a short talk about their experience of studying abroad. Speakers will discuss the application process, the practicalities of studying abroad and the impact of the placement upon their research. There will be ample time for Q&A at the end of the session.
