The Doctoral Researchers Summer Symposium 2020

DRN Events

  • 9 July 2020
  • 10:00 – 5:00 pm
  • A showcase of current doctoral research in the history of British art and architecture.
  • This talk will be given online via a Zoom webinar

This symposium offers an opportunity for doctoral students to share their work on topics related to the history of British art and architecture. It will provide a friendly and supportive environment for researchers to develop works-in-progress and to test out new ideas.

The purpose of the day is to showcase the diverse range of new research into British art and architecture currently being undertaken by doctoral students, and to highlight areas of connection with a view to stimulating discussion, collaboration and new ideas. This will be the second annual symposium hosted by the Paul Mellon Centre’s Doctoral Researchers Network following the event's inauguration last year. Contributions on the day will help to shape the activities of the DRN moving into the next academic year.

The programme for the day can be accessed here.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, this symposium will take place via Zoom. We nonetheless hope the day will foster new relationships and the integration of our doctoral cohort, leading to future collaborations. Proceedings are open for the public to register as audience members.

Please note: booking for the symposium closes on Tuesday 7 July 2020 at midday.

Further details and instructions on how to join the Zoom call will be circulated to those registered on Wednesday 8 July.
