Tour: Displaying the Tudors

2.15pm–3.15pm and 4.15pm – 5.15pm

In 2001 the British Galleries 1500–1800 at the V&A underwent a major refurbishment, offering a cutting-edge approach to the curation of the period’s visual and material culture. In this tour of the Tudor Galleries, curator Nick Humphrey will walk us through the thought processes behind their award-winning curation, and the challenges and opportunities provided by the different media and genres represented in the collection. We will explore the different themes highlighted by the display, and the ways that the galleries enable objects to work together to create a holistic view of the period’s art.
