Yale in London also offers two short overlapping sessions in the summer that run for six weeks each, from June to July and from July to August. Due to the popularity of the summer programme, we can only accept applications from Yale students at this time.
Courses cover many subjects, such as British literature, drama, history, history of art, architecture, and courses on sociology in London. Courses are taught by faculty based at the Centre, Yale professors, and leading British academics. Yale in London courses typically resemble regular Yale College courses in the humanities, which combine significant reading assignments with periodic critical writing assignments—but, perhaps, with more time spent with your classmates outside of seminar, visiting museums, and attending theatrical performances. The course load varies from lecturer to lecturer.
Classes are taught seminar style and are generally scheduled Mondays to Thursdays. During the summer programmeme, students will take two courses. The summer sessions are an intensive version of the full-term programme, therefore, classes will be taught twice a week. Due to the structure and size of the programme, students cannot choose courses and must take all of the courses being offered during a particular term.
